Description of Duties
Responsible for searching public records for the title and owner of property and easements in order to determine the legal condition of the property. Ensures that the corporation adheres to all policies and procedures regarding legal title and Right-of-Way. Along with management, negotiates contract details with property owners related to right-of-way, and patrols the corporation’s properties to make sure no other building properties disturb the right-of-way. Meets with management to report on matters involving right-of-way, so that they can in turn meet with the public and businesses to resolve any pending matters. Acts as a back-up to the Construction Support Supervisor in periods of absence. Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs; Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. A self-starting individual who possesses a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related discipline and at least 2 years prior experience working with right-of-way and titles. Relevant on the job work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Must possess a current Texas Driver License be insurable by the Corporation’s insurance underwriter. Knowledge of all current laws and regulations regarding easements, right-of-way, and titles is necessary. PC literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software are required. Must have demonstrated problem solving skills. Flexibility, professionalism, ability to work in a highly stressful environment, and perform a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions is essential. Attention to detail and a high degree of mental concentration are required. Good organizational, interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills are required in order to effectively communicate with employees, management, and the board of directors is required. Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs., and frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs. Position requires the employee to travel to various worksites to review right of way and easement issues on a daily basis. Must be fluent (verbal and written) in English.Preferences
