Description of Duties

Provides superior quality customer service and a positive experience for all North Alamo Water Supply Corporation customers and visitors.  Assists in various areas of the Corporate Office as needed.   Delivers and picks up work and correspondence between the business facilities and other vendors as needed.  Responsible for keeping the courier car clean and having maintenance done in a timely manner.   May assist in the Customer Service, New Accounts, of Office department by directing customer calls to the appropriate individual by asking for the customer’s account number, name, service location or meter number, and the reason for the call.  Will work to resolve the customer issue right away, and if unable to do so, will escalate the call to a different department or supervisor for assistance.  Enters notes onto customer accounts regarding reasons for calls, and how the issue was resolved.  Sorts and distributes incoming mail, and places postage amounts on all outgoing mail parcels.  Reviews the locked account lists, and verifies if payment was made to determine if the account can be unlocked.  Reviews end of day cut-off lists each morning to ensure that payments have been made, and if so, work orders are created to remove the accounts from locked status.  Sorts all meter reader work orders upon receipt between sealed and not sealed, so that appropriate service charges can be posted and account notations made.  Opens and posts incoming mail payments and verifies that the required information for the transaction is accurate. Directs incoming customer complaints regarding services to the Office Manager, and any complaints regarding employee related matters to the Director of Human Resources.  Collects the plat and review fees for subdivisions, as necessary. May assist in the Teller area by receiving money orders, checks, or credit card payments for customer accounts daily.   Ensures accurate and timely processing of transactions in accordance with established corporate policies and procedures.  Assists with customer/tenant requests for information (such as account balances or address changes) and/or complaints as needed. Observes all safety standards and precautions.  Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs.  Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures.  Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED and at least six months experience in a retail or fast food service industry.  Must possess a valid Texas driver license and good driving record.  Must be at least 25 years old and insurable in the state of Texas.  Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills are essential. Skills should include typing, PC, 10-key calculator, experience with a multi-line console and the ability to handle large quantities of currency. Must have experience working with computers, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).  Good problem solving skills and solid decision making, effective communication, prioritization and organization of work activities. Mental concentration is necessary for handling frequent interruptions and working in a fast paced environment. Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.  Position can be mentally and physically stressful, requires standing for most of the work day, and requires lifting, carrying, or moving heavy boxes or bags of currency and coin weighing up to 25 pounds.  Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 Am to 5:00 PM.
