Description of DutiesOversees the Inventory Control process, including the supervision of the Inventory Specialist. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the corporate warehouse. Counts material, equipment, merchandise, and supplies in stock and posts totals to the inventory records. Compares inventories to office records or computes data from records and/or purchase orders to obtain current inventory. Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock, and adjust errors in computation or count. Investigates any discrepancies discovered, and notifies management of the reasons for the discrepancies. Compiles and tracks information on receipt or distribution of materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies. Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs. Prepares various reports as needed (inventory balance, price lists, shortage reports, etc.). Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.
Job RequirementsA self-starting individual who possesses a high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least 5 years prior experience with warehouse inventory systems. Must possess a current Texas Driver License and must be insurable by the Corporation’s insurance underwriter. A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED. Must possess good written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Visual and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at a computer for long periods of time in a fast paced environment and handling frequent interruptions. May be exposed to period of heat or cold in the corporate warehouse. Must be able to frequently move/lift items of 25 pounds in weight, and occasionally move/lift items of up to 100 pounds in weight. Position requires extended periods of sitting in front of a computer. Position requires the ability to work submerged in water and mud as needed in order to repair or install pipe and install or find water meters. Position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and balance. Must have the ability to frequently life and/or move items up to 100 pounds. Vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level associated with this position is generally loud.
PreferencesPrior work experience with inventory or inventory control.
