Description of Duties

Responsible for direction the Plant Operator Supervisor and Plant Operators regarding water production for the corporation at all Water Plants to assure cost-effective and efficient production. Works with the RO Production Superintendent and the Plant Operator Supervisor regarding the proper staffing of all Plants across all shifts to ensure adequate coverage at the Plants at all times. Coordinates with the RO Production Superintendent and Assistant General Manager to ensure integration with other departments within the Operations division to attain proper levels of output, productivity, and quality. Provides guidance and training to the Plant Supervisor and Operators regarding proper testing and sampling techniques, maintenance, etc. Provides constant feedback to the Assistant General Manager and RO Production Superintendent apprising them of current situations or any incidents that arise that require attention or resolution. Makes recommendations to the Assistant General Manager regarding improvement in production flow or methods, operating methods and procedures, machinery and equipment to improve production and quality. Creates reports and analyses for management as needed. Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs; Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.

Job Requirements

A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or G.E.D and an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Science, Business, or another related discipline as is relevant to the position (relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement). 8 years prior experience working directly in or with Water Production is required, with at least two of those in a supervisory capacity. Must have a valid Texas driver license and be insurable by the Corporation’s insurance underwriter. Must have current Class C Surface Water License through Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and be willing to work towards attainment of the Class B Surface Water and eventually the Class A Surface Water licenses in the future. If hired, will be required to also complete all TCEQ required training and classes for the Production Superintendent position. Relevant work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. Knowledge of all current laws and regulations regarding the water production industry is required. PC literacy and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software are required. Must have demonstrated problem solving skills. Flexibility, professionalism, ability to work in a highly stressful environment, and perform a variety of tasks with numerous interruptions is essential. Attention to detail and a high degree of mental concentration are required. Good organizational, interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills are required in order to effectively communicate with employees, management, the board of directors and the public. Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Position requires the employee to occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. May occasionally be exposed to extreme heat or cold weather conditions. Position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and balance. Must have the ability to frequently life items up to 25 pounds and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level associated with this position is generally loud. Position will require work outdoors where an individual may be exposed to extreme cold or heat, and other weather elements. Must be fluent (written and verbal) in both English and Spanish.

Preferences

10 or more years of prior relevant work experience.
