Customer Service Representative I

Description of Duties

 Provides superior quality customer service and a positive experience for all North Alamo Water Supply Corporation customers and visitors.  Directs customer calls to the appropriate individual by asking for the customer’s account number, name, service location or meter number, and the reason for the call.  Will work to resolve the customer issue right away, and if unable to do so, will escalate the call to a different department or supervisor for assistance.  Enters notes onto customer accounts regarding reasons for calls, and how the issue was resolved.  Process debit/credit payments by telephone.  Directs incoming customer complaints regarding services to the Office Manager, and any complaints regarding employee related matters to the Director of Human Resources.  Collects the plat and review fees for subdivisions, as necessary.    Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs.  Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures.  Other duties as may be assigned.  

Job Requirements

A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED.  Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills are essential. Skills should include typing, PC, 10-key calculator, and ability to operate a multi-line telephone console. Must possess good written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.  Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential.  Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  Visual and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at a computer for long periods of time in a fast paced environment and handling frequent interruptions.  Position requires extended periods of sitting in front of a computer and requires the ability to frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs. Must be bilingual (verbal and written) in English and Spanish.  


At least 3 months prior experience as a customer service representative is preferred.
