Description of DutiesResponsible for assisting the Billing Supervisor with the processing all billing cycles, and with all cycle closes each month. Responsible for the lock list production and maintenance; Will assist in the review of the meter reader report for discrepancies, and with the submittal work orders for the meter reader department to investigate the readings. Acts as a backup to the Billing Supervisor regarding customer complaints involving billing, and makes adjustments as needed to customer billing after investigations have been completed. Assists the Billing Supervisor as needed with month-end processing. Responsible for creating various reports such as billing statements, teller overage/shortage daily reports, and telephone call summary daily reports. Assists the Billing Supervisor to acts as a point of contact for all customers with returned checks. Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs. Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.
Job RequirementsA self-starting individual who possesses a high school diploma or GED. At least 3 years prior working experience in customer service or teller. 10-key calculator, and ability to operate a multi-line telephone console. Must possess good written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Problem solving and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Visual and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at a computer for long periods of time in a fast paced environment and handling frequent interruptions. Position requires extended periods of sitting in front of a computer and requires the ability to frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally up to 25 lbs. Must be bilingual (verbal and written) in English and Spanish.
PreferencesPrior experience working at a water supply corporation or a public utility is preferred.
